Land Agreement
ACE develops exclusivity agreement on the use of the land from Bristol City Council which is ultimately signed in 2021.
Aug 2019
Grid Connection Secured
ACE secure a grid connection agreement with Western Power Distribution for an 11kV supply to the turbine site. The works include the provision and installation of HV cable and substation equipment.
July 2020
Planning Approval Granted
On the 8th July 2020, ACE’s planning application, supported by comprehensive and detailed Environmental, Ecological, Transport, and Community reports, receives a unanimous vote for approval from Bristol City Council’s Planning Committee. The turbine approved has a maximum tip height of 150m. It is to be built on Council land at the site shown. The permission is granted for 25 years from commissioning.

Planning Conditions Met
Pre-construction planning conditions are met and approved by Bristol City Council, thus allowing the project to progress.
April
2022
Financial Close
The wind turbine receives funding from Thrive Renewables, Bristol & Bath Regional Capital, other local lenders, and a £0.5m grant from WECA via the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
July 2022
Groundwork Commences
Work begins on site with clearance and the development of access roads.
Sept 2022
Foundation Works Begin
A steel rebar frame is used to shape a solid concrete foundation for the turbine.
Feb 2023
Blades and Tower Delivered
Two weeks after arriving in the UK, the three blades are delivered to the site with a police escort. The tower sections arrive two days later.
Feb 2023
Tower, Nacelle and Rotor Assembly
Following set up of the specialist crane, the tower sections are assembled and the nacelle and rotor are added over a four day period.

Blade Installation
It then takes a further week to install all three of the blades.

Commissioning
The commissioning process then begins to ensure the turbine is in working order.
