Mark Pepper
Mark represents Ambition Lawrence Weston’s aims through the Lawrence Weston Community
Plan. He is ALW’s representative on the Big Local Steering Group and Chair of the Neighbourhood Planning Group. A long-term resident of Lawrence Weston, he has excellent connections in the community from his
previous youth and social work. He has experience of partnership working to gain more funding and delivery of local objectives.

Dr Andrew Garrad
Andrew is a retired engineer and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He was
the founder and CEO of the Garrad Hassan Group - the world’s largest renewable energy consultancy and President of the European Wind Energy Association 2014-2016. He is a wind pioneer. Andrew provides ACE with his engineering and business skills: “I have spent over 40 years working in wind energy all over
the world. Although this is England’s biggest onshore turbine, it’s my smallest project since
1989. That does not mean it’s the simplest though – far from it!".

Norman Routledge
Long time local resident and Chair of Ambition Lawrence Weston. Norman is a successful Bristol businessman who ran Cannon Security for many years - a Filton-based fire and burglar alarm firm. He was the owner of Kings Weston House a grade 1 historic building built between 1712 and 1719 which was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh. Between January 2012 and Sept 2020, he completely renovated the mansion, and all this work included employing and training young people from the Lawrence Weston estate. Norman has gone on to do other restoration projects but remains committed to progressing the plans of ALW.

Roger Sabido
Roger is a retired aerospace engineer, born in Bristol, and a long-time resident of Lawrence
Weston. He has been a member of Ambition Lawrence Weston since its inception. He is a
member of the ALW Energy Working Group, and of the Lawrence Weston
Neighbourhood Planning Group. Roger Sabido is a community and energy activist. He supports many of the energy projects and programmes that Ambition Lawrence Weston has developed over the years. In 2012, he proposed the idea of Lawrence Weston having its own turbine. He is the father of the project.

Marie Bryant
Marie is a Forensic lecturer at SGS college, also lecturing in environmental forensics and domestic and residential energy audits. She has conducted and reported on thermographic surveys regarding energy efficiency for both residential and domestic properties. Marie has supported the ACE project from its inception in 2016 - advising on environmental impact assessments whilst engaging in community projects including taking part in the Energy Champions programme run by Ambition Lawrence Weston.
Treasurer
Wilf Burke
Wilf is a chartered accountant, local resident and a retired Chief Financial Officer. He has
supported the project through financial modelling, planning and overseeing the
accounts on behalf of Ambition Community Energy C.I.C. e has provided the financial knowledge and discipline needed for such a project.
Accounts Manager
Amy Smith
Amy manages the day to day finances and administration of Ambition Community Energy as well as Ambition Lawrence Weston. Amy is a chartered banker, Local Resident and a director of Ambition Community Homes. Amy is currently working towards a qualification in accounting.
Asset Manager
Dr Charles Gamble
Charles is a wind energy veteran with 38 years experience in senior roles including Managing Director, Chief Technical Officer, Chief Operations Officer, in UK & US companies. Charles has considerable knowledge of wind technology and the development process plus international experience in business development roles. As a founding Director of Community Power Solutions Ltd, contracted to ACE he was responsible for initial wind assessment, financial planning, turbine and civils contract tendering, and the technical aspects of asset management during construction.

David Tudgey
David is a community energy practitioner & project development manager with a lifelong passion for climate action & social justice. David also has 12 years experience as a sustainability and environmental consultant. As a founding director of Community Power Solutions Ltd he supports the development of the community energy sector in Bristol, harnessing & coordinating grassroots community energy activity. He matches community ambitions to low carbon energy technologies, and creates policy arrangements and public support to deliver projects. As project development manager he has contributed to numerous projects over recent years and has received national awards.
